Dir Horti convenes review meeting

Stresses for covering small, marginal growers under High Density Plantation programme

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 22: Director Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today convened a meeting to review progress of various schemes being implemented by the department.
The director asked the concerned officers to redouble their efforts achieving targets within stipulated time frame and to develop all public sector nurseries for production of quality and true to type plant material as well as grafted walnut plants for meeting the requirements of growers in the field.
He directed for covering more small and marginal growers under high density plantation programme and asked the concerned to maintain a close liaison with the growers and orchardists, besides conducting awareness and training camps to aware them about modern fruit cultivation techniques. Besides, conducting exposure tours for youth trained in various aspects of horticulture sector and orchardists outside Jammu and Kashmir.
The Horticulture Development officers all Zones of Kashmir Division were present in the meeting.
