Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization held across Kashmir

SRINAGAR, JANUERY 19: The Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme was today held across Kashmir during which thousands of children under the age of 5 years were administered anti-polio vaccine to protect them against the crippling disease.
AT ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir inaugurated the programme by administering polio drops to newborn infants at MCCH Anantnag.
Under the programme 1023475 children will be immunized, for which 650 vaccination booths including 5 High Risk Area and 14 transit booths have been setup in the district. Besides deploying 1183 Health, 783 ASHA and 646 Anganwadi workers and 30 supervisors for smooth conduct of the programme.
AT BARAMULLA: The District Development Commissioner, Dr. G.N Itoo inaugurates the programme at District Hospital Baramulla in presence of Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent, District Immunization Officer and other concerned.
It was informed that 1.62 lakh children will be immunized at 875 vaccination booths established in the district and 3380 employees from health department and ASHA and Aganwadi workers have been deployed to performer the job.
AT BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza inaugurated the programme at District Hospital Bandipora.
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, BMO and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Under the programme 60753 children immunized at 332 booths established in the district. It was informed that 393 vaccinators, 412 ASHA, 434 Anganwadi and 393 Health workers have been deployed to ensure that no child is left out in the district.
AT BUDGAM: The District Development Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganaie inaugurated the programme at Chief Medical Officer’s Office.
Chief Medical Officer, Deputy CMO, Medical Superintendent District Hospital and other concerned were present on the occasion.
As many as 106271 children between 0-5 years age group are being covered under the programme and 2468 officers including 1048 Health Workers, 624 ASHA workers, 672 ICDS workers and 124 voluntaries have been deployed across the district.
AT GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan kick- started the programme at District Hospital Ganderbal in presence of CMO, DHO, Deputy CMO, Medical Superintendent and other concerned.
Under the programme 47257 children will be immunized in district for which 226 IPPI centers have been set up, besides deploying 932 and 49 supervisors for the smooth conduct of the programme.
AT KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Anshul Garg launched the programme at sub District hospital in presence of CMO, Medical superintendent and other concerned.
Under the programme 1,30000 children will be immunized at 1726 IPPI Centres established and 2956 employees from different departments including 1225 form Health Department, 950 Asha and 704 ICDS workers have been deployed across the district for smooth conduct of the programme.
AT KULGAM: The District Development Commissioner, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, inaugurated the programme at District Hospital Kulgam, here today.
Under the programme 508 vaccination booths have been established in the district to vaccinated 88033 children.
AT PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer today launched the programme at Chief Medical Officer’s office in presence of CMO, Deputy CMO, District Immunization Officer, Nodal Officer RBSK and other concerned.
Under the programme 94297 children will be vaccinated at 466 IPPI booths established in the district
AT SHOPIAN: The Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin launched the programme at District Hospital Shopian.
Pertinently, as many as 235 Pulse Polio booths have been set up across the district to vaccinate 43757 children. Besides, 344 health workers including Anganwari and ASHA workers have been deployed for the job.
