DDC Kishtwar inaugurates science exhibition, book fair

KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 19: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today inaugurated 7th District Level Science Exhibition and Book fair under SAMAGRA scheme 2019-20 here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
Among others present on the occasion were SSP Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta, CEO Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Dy. CEO Rajinder Kumar Sen, Principal DIET Kishtwar Ashok Kumar, Field Advisor from SIE Jammu V. K Koul, DEPO Umesh Kumar, programme organizer Mehboob Ahmed Qazi ( Lect.Math) Principals, Lecturers, Head masters, teachers of concerned Schools, Civil Society members , representatives from District Library, officials from DIET and other institutions.
The students of 195 schools presented around 205 models at the exhibition on the theme of agriculture, energy, health, environment and natural resources besides around
15 book stalls were installed by local booksellers, district library Kishtwar, NGOs, Historians as well as students of HSS Boys and Girls etc.
Addressing the students, the DDC hailed the concerted efforts of Education department, DIET Kishtwar and assured full support of administration for organising science exhibitions and other extra co- curricular activities which help to enrich the mindset of the students towards positivity.
He expressed his satisfaction and praised the children and teachers for their wonderful work with regard to preparation of thematic models and asked to practice such themes and sensitise others also.
He advised the students/participants to say no to single use plastic, inculcate the habit of having biodegradable carry bags with themselves and aware others too.
Further he enjoined upon the participants and general public to put their best and save every single drop of water by making its judicious use.
A team of adjudicators including Majid Kichloo (lect.Botany) Apramjeet Kumar (lect.Zoology), Shakti Kumar Sharma (Lect. Physics) Ramesh Thakur (Lect. Math) adjudged the models and later trophies, mementos, medals, certificates were presented to the winning schools.
The programme was coordinated by Mehboob Qazi lecture-DIET.
