DDC Shopian reviews arrangements for horti produce transportation

SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 18: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin convened a meeting to review the status of transportation of horticulture stock keeping in mind the ongoing apple season in the district.
Looking into the contribution of horticulture in the economy of the district, the DDC congratulated the Fruit Growers Association for having good crop this year inspite of seasonal delays. He assured continuous assistance to the growers so as to ensure maximum gains.
The Fruit Growers Association expressed his gratitude for constant support from district administration and assured their full support.
The DDC stressed on the need to enforce new efficient route plans and for timely secured evacuations of crops. He said that the sake and secure management of apple crops is of foremost concern and every effort is being put to resolve all issues related to it and provide efficient transport facility to the public
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Shopian, Fruit Growers Association Shopian, Traffic Police Officials, Transporters and other officers of different departments.
