Director inaugurates seasonal seed distribution store at Village Sarore

JAMMU, October 18, 2019: Director Agriculture, Jammu, P. S. Rathore today inaugurated a seasonal seed distribution store at village Sarore.
Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), B. K. Zutshi and Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), H. S. Mankotia besides farmers were present on the occasion.
Director also declared open the sale of Rabi seeds on the occasion.
Director complemented the farmers for getting seed store in the area which would be immensely helpful for them towards achieving the goal of doubling their farm income. He exhorted upon the farmers to take advantage of various farmer welfare schemes launched by the government like Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, National Food Security Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, Seed Village Programme, Sub Mission for Agriculture Machinization etc. He advised the framers and local PRI members to work coordinately for formulation of need specific and farmer friendly projects for optimum outcome.
Chief Agriculture Officer, F. A. Bhat, informed that the seasonal seed store at Sarore falls under Zone Chani Himmat of Sub Division R. S. Pura and will cater to the seed requirement of about ten adjoining Panchayats. He said that sufficient quantity of wheat, Barseem, Pulses and Oats seeds have been stocked in the store for sale to the farmers.
Later, interacting with the field officers of the concerned area, Rathore asked them for strict adherence to norms and guidelines while implementing departmental schemes and programmes in the field.
