DDC Kathua reviews arrangements for Diwali festival

KATHUA OCTOBER 16:- District Development Commissioner Kathua, O P Bhagat today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the Diwali festival.
The DDC directed Tehsildar Kathua, SHO and CEO, MC Kathua to keep strict vigil to ensure sale of crackers at identified locations viz Sports Stadium and Government School ground at Sawan Chak.
The Fire and Emergency Services department was asked to keep the fire tenders ready to meet any eventuality.
A committee comprising Tehsildar, AD FCS &CA, Assistant Controller legal Metrology and CEO Municipal Ccommittee Kathua was constituted to keep a check on the quality and rates of eatables, sanitation and encroachment in market places and other busy places in the town.
The committee was also asked to keep a check on the adulterated and synthetic milk products.
The DDC called for immediate seizure of adulterated sweets and other eatables and action against the erring traders.
AD FCS & CA was also directed to ensure proper ration supply in all tehsils. The PDD and PHE departments were asked to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply with provision for water tankers to meet the requirements. The traffic department was asked to check traffic congestion in the markets and ensure smooth movement of traffic.
The CMO Kathua was directed to keep the ambulance stationed at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and sufficient stock of life saving drugs at every Hospital and PHC.
The MC Kathua and Lakhanpur were directed to maintain cleanliness and take measures to avoid any congestion due to fruit and other vendors in the town markets.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADC, Ghanshyam Singh, ACR, Devinder Paul, Tehsildar, Kapil Kant Khajuria, Executive Engineers of PHE and PDD, AD FCS & CA, Zakir Hussain Wani, Asstt. Controller Legal Metrology, Kuldeep Raj, Food Safety Officer, Pankaj Soni, CEO MC Kathua, Sanjeev Gandotra, Police Officers and other district officers.
