DDC Rajouri reviews BRO’s mega road projects
Asks officers to ensure repair of Rajouri-Thanamandi Road in one week

RAJOURI, JULY15: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting with the officials of Border Road Organisation to review progress on mega road projects being executed by BRO.
District Development Commissioner took a detailed review of roads being maintained and executed by BRO in the district including Rajouri-Thanamandi Road, Rajouri-Poonch Highway, Kalakote Road, Kaller-Keri road, Rajouri Kandi Budhal Road, Daraj Bridge and Dalli Bridge.
Taking serious note of dilapidated condition of Rajouri-Thanamandi road, the DDC fixed timeline of one week for filling up of all potholes, improving drainage and removal of encroachment alongside the road.
The BRO informed that first 3.9 Km of 22 km Rajouri-Thanamandi road has been concretized and the widening of the road shall be taken up shortly.
DDC directed the officers of BRO to immediately place the indent so that land acquisition process can be started.
The concerned officer informed that resurfacing work on Jammu-Poonch National highway has been completed while installation of road safety features like cat eyes, crash barriers etc alongside National Highway have also been completed on 10 km of accident prone stretches. Besides, 4 km of Rajouri-Kalakote Road has been blacktopped and RBM has been done on 14km while the road will be completed within 6 months. It was also informed that widening as well as blacktopping of the Rajouri Kandi Budhal Road is in progress. It was informed that work on Blacktopping of Kallar-Keri road is in progress and will be completed in two months.
DDC asked the concerned to take up work on road from kaller main Chowk towards the Keri as well.
The meeting also discussed up-gradation, strengthening and resurfacing work of all major GREF roads in the district.
