JAMMU: Extending the tough stance against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir exhibited by his senior Amit Shah, Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy on Saturday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the centre would take tougher measures to put down terrorism in the strife-torn state.
"At the central government, we will make efforts in the days to come to root out terrorist activity in Jammu and Kashmir with more toughness,” Reddy said at the sidelines of an event in Hyderabad.
“I am fully confident the Centre is trying to root out terrorism with a zero-tolerance (approach). The Narendra Modi government is making efforts to take the country forward in the coming days," he told reporters.
Ever since taking charges as the Home Minister of India, Amit Shah since June 1, has been keeping a close watch on situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The North Block is abuzz with developments regarding the State, even as there is at least one meeting being held every single day, with either Shah, or his deputy Reddy or the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval reviewing the situation on daily basis.
