JAMMU: Buoyed by exit polls predicting a sweeping victory for the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the state BJP office was today abuzz with activities with most of its senior leaders, former ministers and commoners from different fields visiting the office, while on the other hand the office of the Congress Party wore almost a deserted look as many of the senior state leaders were not seen in the office.
The day before counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls felt like another routine day at the Congress office while confident of predictions to turn into actual results, the state BJP senior leaders kept visiting the party headquarter at Trikuta Nagar till late evening to take stock of the arrangements being made for the celebrations for tomorrow’s victory after results.
The BJP has ordered a huge quantity of sweets from different areas of the city, arranged fire crackers in large numbers, decorated its office with buntings and colorful lightings besides inviting large number of prominent citizens to celebrate the victory as has been predicted in the exit poll.
The BJP has also asked its leaders to come to the party headquarters to celebrate the possible victory in a united manner.
It may be mentioned that exit poll has predicted victory for the BJP in both Parliamentary seats of Jammu region i.e Jammu-Poonch and Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat.
Both seats were won by the BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha elections also. There are 6 Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand, there was hardly any such activity witnessed at the Congress office at Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu.
However, the state Congress Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said that the party has also made arrangements to celebrate victory tomorrow after the results.
“The exit poll is not the exact result and therefore, we have made all arrangements to celebrate our victory tomorrow after the results” Sharma said.
He however, said, “Everything needed for celebrations is at standby and as and when required, everything will be put in place”.
