Three-yr-old molested by driver, conductor of school bus; bail denied

JAMMU: A district court in Samba district on Monday rejected the bail application of a school bus driver and conductor who are booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 for misbehaving with a 3-year-old girl.

The accused-- identified as Ravi Kumar and Sunny Kumar would touch inappropriately the child studying in nursery class and kiss her on the to-and-fro journey from her home to her school at the outskirts of Vijaypur.

There was some behavioral change in the victim girl after some days of admission. After the victim told her mother the horror she used to go through every day, a complaint was lodged on April 23, FIR was registered and investigation commenced.

On Monday, after hearing the counsels, Principal Sessions Judge Samba MK Sharma observed that accused have been charge sheeted for the commission of offences punishable u/s 354 RPC 8/10 POCSO Act.

“The investigation is in progress. The statements of the victim girl as well as her mother have been recorded u/s 164-A CrPC before the Munsiff Samba.

“The accused have failed to make out a case for being released on bail,” Court observed and rejected the bail application.
