Army jawan attains martyrdom in Pak firing on LoC in Rajouri.

Jammu, Dec 31 (UNI) A jawan was martyred after being hit by a sniper shot fired unprovoked from across the border in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.

"Pakistani Army early this morning fired unprovoked at forward Indian posts in Nowshera sector," official sources here said.

They said one of the sniper shots hit the jawan deployed in the area.

The martyred jawan was identified as Jagsir Singh of 19 Punjab, resident of village, Lowgarh Fhakhral Walla, Ferozpur, Punjab.

On December 24, Pakistan fired unprovoked on LoC in Poonch in which four Army personnel, including an officer, attained martyrdom.

On December 23, a Pakistani sniper was also neutralised, while on December 25 evening, Indian Army troops crossed over the LoC and neutralised three Pakistani soldiers in retaliation to the killing of four Army people.
