Naik, Yogi discuss upcoming events

Lucknow, Dec 29: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath met Governor Ram Naik on Thursday evening and discussed the forthcoming visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Chitrakoot on January 8, next year.

Kovind will be chief guest at the convocation ceremony of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya University for Specially-challenged.

Naik informed the chief minister that out of the 25 state universities, convocations in 23 institutions had been held.

The governor and chief minister also discussed the issue of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow; Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Law University, Lucknow; and Gautam Buddha University, Noida, where convocations have not been held. The governor is not the chancellor of these three universities.

The two also discussed the arrangements made for the observance of 101 years of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s call for ‘swaraj’ on December 30 in Lucknow. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Lokmanya Tilak’s great grand-daughter-in-law Mukta Tilak and Tilak descendants are expected to attend the function.
