Pak must adopt humane approach with Jadhav: CM
'Disturbed at treatment meted out to family'

JAMMU: Even as members of parliament, cutting across party lines, in Parliament stood together strongly condemning the Pakistan's misbehavior with the Kulbhushan Jadhav's wife and mother in the highly controlled meeting earlier this week, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also slammed the neighbouring country for the treatment it meted out to the Indian prisoner's family members, asking it to adopt a humane approach with Jadhav.
Expressing sadness over Pakistan's misbehavior towards Jadhav's mother and wife during their recent visit to Pakistan, Mehbooba said humanity should be treated above politics.
"I am very disturbed at the treatment meted out to Kulbhushan Jadhav's wife and mother in Pakistan," Mehbooba said in what was incidentally her first tweet written in Hindi on the micro blogging site Twitter.
"Pakistan must adopt a humane approach with Jadhav and ensure his fair trial," she wrote, adding that humanity should be treated above politics.
Mehbooba's deputy Nirmal Singh and Roads and Buildings Minister Naeem Akhtar also expressed displeasure over the treatment with Jadhav's wife and mother in Pakistan.
"It is inhumanity of Pakistan. It played this game to mislead the people and got exposed before the world," Singh said.
"This is the reality of Pakistan, which does not believe in humanity," he told reporters on the sidelines of the oath taking function of Tassaduq Mufti and Javaid Mustafa Mir who were inducted into the cabinet today.
Meanwhile, another minister of Mehbooba's council, Roads and Buildings Minister Naeem Akhtar also criticized Pakistan's approach in the meeting.
"Humanitarian outreach should not be made a victim of politics," Akhtar said.
