Over 24 lakh patients visited in OPDs of 7 associated hospitals of GMC Sgr in 2023-24

SRINAGAR: During the year 2023-24, in seven associated hospitals of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, more than 2.4 million patients were seen in Outpatient Departments (OPDs).
The seven associated hospitals of Government Medical College Srinagar include SMHS Hospital, Lalla Ded Hospital, Bone & Joint Hospital, G.B Panth/Children Hospital, Chest Disease Hospital, Psychiatry Disease Hospital, and Super Specialty Hospital.
Sharing a detail, a senior doctor at GMC Srinagar said, “As many as 2473282 patients were seen in OPDs in seven associated hospitals of Government Medical College Srinagar while 2 28 239 patients were admitted and 70 271 surgeries were conducted.
He said, “1063028 patients were seen in OPDs, 107589 in In-Patient Department (IPD) at SMHS during 2023-24; during the same period, 10726 major and 12543 minor surgeries were conducted at the hospital”.
“208912 patients were seen in OPDs, 36721 in IPD during 2023-24 at Lalla Ded Hospital; during the same period, 107351 major and 3540 minor surgeries were conducted at the hospital”, he said.
The doctor said that at Bone & Joint Hospital, 245691 patients were seen in OPDs, 14416 in IPD, 5192 major and 9672 minor surgeries were conducted during the 2023-24. At G.B Panth/Children Hospital, 457552 patients were seen in OPDs and 28723 in IPD during 2023-24; however, he said no surgery was done at the children's hospital.
“152186 patients were seen in OPDs, 7480 in IPD during 2023-24 at Chest Disease Hospital; during the same period, 1809 major and 898 minor surgeries were conducted at the hospital”, he said.
The doctor said that at Psychiatry Disease Hospital, 169514 patients were seen in OPDs and 1779 in IPDs. Sharing details about Super Specialty Hospital, the doctor said that during 2023-24, 177119 patients were seen in OPDs and 31531 in IPD; during the same period, 4058 major and 8540 minor surgeries were done at the hospital.
