JKHDC donates Rs 10 lakh to J&K Relief Fund
Corp manufacturing cotton masks for Govt Deptts, offering its textile products to Hospitals

JAMMU, APRIL 07: Jammu and Kashmir State Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) today donated Rs. 10 lakh to Jammu and Kashmir Relief Fund as a contribution towards the ongoing efforts being made to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
In this regard, Managing Director JKHDC, Rakesh Sharma, presented a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, as a donation to J&K Relief Fund. The amount collected shall be deposited in the Relief account as a voluntary contribution from the staff of the Corporation.
Managing Director JKHDC apprised the Commissioner Secretary that the donation forms a part of the salary of the Corporation’s employees who have contributed as per their salary grades.
He informed that JKHDC has been manufacturing the cotton face masks for supply to different Government Departments besides the Corporation is also offering its textile products like Bed Sheets, Pillow Covers, and Matresses for the Covid Hospitals in this crisis. He further informed that 4 JKHDC registered units are working continuously 24x7 for manufacturing of these masks.
The Commissioner Secretary appreciated the initiatives taken by JKHDC and directed the Managing Director to further gear up their efforts for enhanced production ensuring that no shortage of raw-material occur on this account. He also asked the Corporation to optimally utilize all its resources to combat the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
