Former Advisor Vijay Kumar in self-quarantine

JAMMU: Senior Security Advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and former Advisor to last Governor of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, K Vijay Kumar has gone into self-quarantine after coming into indirect contact with a CRPF doctor who has tested positive for coronavirus.
Besides Kumar, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) A P Maheshwari, and about two dozen officials in this chain have also gone into self-quarantine after the doctor was found infected on April 2.
Kumar had travelled with Maheshwari to Chhattisgarh on a special BSF aircraft to review anti-Naxal operations in the state.
“I have put myself in isolation as a matter of precaution,” Kumar said.
Kumar, a 1975-batch IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, now advises the Home ministry on security-related matters of the Union Territory of J-K and Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected states. He had also headed CRPF between October, 2010 to September, 2012.
