Another killing in Kashmi

SRINAGAR: In second such incident in past 24 hours, a 28-year-old youth was shot dead by militants south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
Militants, unknown in number, opened fire at a youth identified as Mohammad Saleem Dar this evening.
“The incident took place at 9:05 pm, when a number of militants opened fire at Mohammad Saleem Dar son of Mohammad Abdullah Dar outside his residence at Larkipora village in Fatehpora area of Anantnag,” a police official said.
“Dar, who received four bullet wounds, was taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag where he succumbed to his injuries,” he said.
A senior health official in GMC Anantnag said that Dar with critical bullet wounds was declared brought dead in the health facility.
Soon after the incident, a joint team of police and army launched searches in the area.
“Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. The area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on,” a Police spokesman said.
This is the second such incident in past 24 hours in south Kashmir.
In a late night terror strike on Wednesday, militants had shot dead two civilians in Kulgam district.
Ghulam Hassan Wagay and Sirajuddin Gorsi were shot dead at their residences in Nandimarg area of Kulgam around 10.45 pm on Wednesday.
