DDC Udhampur takes stock of essential services on ground

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 02:- In order to provide food and other essential items to stranded labourers, destitute and stranded truckers on national highway, district administration Udhampur in collaboration with local community volunteers has set two community kitchens in the district where food is being cooked and distributed among needy people at different locations.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singh today visited Udhampur town and took stock of facilities at community kitchens. He interacted with the stranded labourers who expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to them by the administration.
The DDC said that two community kitchens have been established in the town to provide food to stranded labourers, destitute and stranded truckers. Chief Horticulture Officer, Udhampur Brij Vallabh Gupta has been designated as nodal officers for donations and management of community kitchens.
The DDC further added that all efforts have been made to reach every stranded person in the district and various teams have been designated on ground to ensure that all people get essential items during the lockdown period.
Team headed by Faz-lul Haseeb probationer, and Mohd Arif AD FCS&CA is ensuring distribution of ration among needy. Team headed by ACD Mushtaq Choudhary is distributing the dry ration among poor and destitute in rural areas while another team headed by Parshotam Dutt Sharma Chief Education Officer, is ensuring ration in urban areas and mid day meal distribution.
