COVID-19: DC Doda distributes essential commodities kits among destitute families

DODA, APRIL 02: As part of the initiative launched by the district administration for the people/voluntary organisations who want to contribute to the efforts undertaken by administration to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, a Doda based Charitable Trust namely Habib Trust offered their voluntary contribution by donating 50 kits comprising essential commodities for poor families of rural areas of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, appreciated the step taken by the Habib Trust and also distributed the kits among needy families of rural areas who have been stuck in the district due to the lock down. He also distributed face masks among poor families to mitigate spread of infection.
On the occasion, the Chairman Habib Trust was also instructed to ensure that the kits would be delivered at the door step of every designated family and the whole process of distribution should be carried out under the supervision of district administration without violating the restrictions imposed across the district.
The DC said that the step has been taken by the district administration to provide a common platform to those who are desirous to extend their support during present time of epidemic. He further said that every effort is being taken to provide the daily essential commodities to poor people.
DC also appealed the people/ voluntary organisations / trustees to come forward to support the district administration in helping the poor families during lock down restrictions.
