COVID-19 Alert: DC B'la inspects several locations, reviews implementation of Advisories
Convenes meeting with Civil Society Members, Sought Cooperation

BARAMULLA, MARCH 31: With a view to ensure strict compliance of all relevant advisories pertaining to pandemic COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Baramulla, G N Itoo, today inspected several locations of the district including Sopore, Rafiabad ,old town Baramulla and other areas to review the implementation of the said advisories especially observing the lockdown and maintaining social distancing.
The DC conducted the inspection, following complaints received from these areas regarding the violation of prescribed guidelines.
On the occasion, DC took an appraisal of the situation wherein he strictly directed the implementation of all the requisite advisories and to avoid any gathering to mitigate the risk.
Meanwhile, DC inspected the separate OPD section of Sub-district hospital, Sopore and took stock of various health care facilities, there. He directed the concerned authorities to provide all the health services to the patients keeping in view prescribed norms and regulations with respect to Coronavirus threat. He also inspected medical shops and emphasized shop owners to keep masks and sanitizers available at minimum prices besides, directing them to avoid gatherings at their business outlets.
Later, the DC convened a meeting of civil society members and other stakeholders of the society to discuss various measures for the prevention of COVID-19.
On the occasion, DC exhorted them to play a proactive role in their respective areas by monitoring all such activities having adverse affect on public health. He also directed them to bring in to the notice of the administration whether any person is suffering due to shortage of essential commodities in the present circumstances so that appropriate measures are taken.
He informed that a final warning has been given to all such elements who are hiding travel and contact details saying that strict action under relevant laws will be taken against such persons.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, Ab Qayoom, stressed them to identify all such persons having travel or contact history and contact administration in case of any exigency.
