DM Ganderbal inspects functioning of 24x7 COVID-19 Control Room

GANDERBAL, MARCH 31: The District Magistrate, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, along with Additional Deputy Magistrate, Farooq Ahmad Baba, today conducted a surprise inspection of District Control Room for COVID-19, established at Mini Secretariat Complex.
During the inspection, the DM was briefed by the Tehsildar Head Quarter, Showkat Husain, who is Nodal Officer for the Control Room about its functioning. While enquiring about the calls received since the establishment of Control Room, it was informed that 197 calls are received till date out which 183 cases are being followed.
The DM also enquired about the action taken report on received calls on daily basis and was informed that 16 samples sent for testing have come out negative.
The Deputy Magistrate also sought the detail about the tracing of persons who participated in religious congregation in Delhi’s Nizamudin area or who have come in contact with the Tablighi Jamaat persons.
The Chief Planning Officer, Anika Mushtaq, JD Employment ,Kashmir, Syed Shabir, who is overall in-charge for activities regarding COVID-19 and District Control Room, were also present on the occasion.
While appreciating the officials for maintaining updated record as per SOP, the DM urged the Nodal Officer to monitor all activities associated with COVID-19 as per laid down guidelines besides ensuring close coordination with the surveillance teams and nominated Administrators for Quarantine Centers and Red Zone.
Meanwhile, the DM warned all the people with travel history of aboard, outside J&K or who have been part of Tableegi Jamaat to report to the District Administration within next two days stating that tough action as per law will be taken against those who fail to come forward.
