COVID-19: DC Kulgam inspects quantine centers

KULGAM, MARCH 31: The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today visited identified Administrative Quarantine Centers at Manzgam, D. H. Pora and other areas in the district.
He was accompanied by ADC, Shabir Hussian Bhat, SDM, Noorabad, Umer Shafi Pandith, BMO, D.H.pora, Dr Shugufta ,Tehsildar D. H. Pora, Niyaz Ahmad and other officers
The identified centers would be utilized for quarantine facilities for the citizens of the district arriving back from outside.
During the visit, the DC inspected the facilities made available there including bedding, electricity, water and sanitation.
He asked the concerned to ensure that the places earmarked for quarantine are having all facilities to ensure comfortable stay of the persons, who need to be quarantined, if and when required.
Notably, the district administration has also established administrative as well as medical quarantine centers across the district having 600 quarantine bed capacity..
Besides, the Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam has nominated Assistant Commissioner, Labour, Dr Nida Yousuf as Nodal Officer to receive phone calls of domiciles of Kulgam who are stuck outside due to lock down.
All the residents of Kulgam, who are currently stranded outside the district and UT have been asked to get in touch with the designated nodal officer and her team, for any assistance on 7006563604 & 7006254323 numbers.
Moreover, an intensive sanitation and fumigation by RDD, Municipalities and other concerned departments is also carried out on regular basis in district to contain spread of COVID-19.
