District admin distributes food kits among migrant labours, destitute, needy

KULGAM, MARCH 28: District administration Kulgam today distributed food packets containing rice, oil, pulses and other essentials among migrant labours, destitute and poor people.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Showkat Aijaz Bhat said that this step was taken in view of lockdown in the district. The food packets were distributed among migrant labours, detitutes and poor people so they may not face any difficult. He said that all requisite arrangements have been put in place across the District and people need not to panic.
“We have already established in strength quarantine centers across the district and medical quarantine centre’s are also in place, with all necessary facilities. While a 24X7 control room is also fully functional which received more than 350 distress calls and the concerned initiated prompt response and action.
Sharing the details of availability of essentials Deputy Commissioner said that there is buffer stock of essential commodities including the medicine, ration, LPG & other essentials.
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection, home distribution of ration has been already ordered , introduced and designated officers are coordinating on ground with field officers to ensure hassle free distribution of ration across the district by following SOP’s, DC added.
He further said that people can also place online phone-in order for the eatables and will get them at their doorsteps for which necessary arrangements have also been put in place.
With regard to sanitation Deputy Commissioner said that intensive sanitation cum fumigation drives are being carried out throughout the district by RDD and Municipalities to contain the spread of Coronavirus infection.
People are also requested to follow the advisories and restriction strictly Deputy Commissioner added.
